Over Domaine Buisson-Charles
In Meursault treffen we regelrecht vuurwerk aan bij Domaine Buisson-Charles. Wat een ongelooflijk mooie, intense en prachtige wijnen!
Meursaults van absolute topklasse, beter wordt het niet.
Dat vinden meer mensen, want dit kleine domein (5,5 ha), wat slechts 20.000 flessen per jaar produceert, heeft geen enkele moeite om hun wijnen kwijt te raken. Wijngoeroe Robert Parker noemde het al ‘The best Meursault you’ve never heard of’. Er is zeer veel vraag – maar omdat er vreemd genoeg in Nederland geen grote wijnimporteur hen representeert wouden ze graag een beetje aan de Geluksdruif verkopen – juist ook omdat wij kleinschalig werken. De voorraad is dus beperkt!
Burghound zegt over hen:“This 5.5 ha domaine, of which 25% of its production is in red, is directed by 4th generation Michel Buisson, his daughter Catherine and son-in-law Patrick Essa. Essa noted that 2009 was “a relatively easy vintage. The fruit was clean, there wasn’t much disease pressure and the phenolics were also quite ripe. We began picking on the 12th of September under perfect weather and while there was some sorting required, it wasn’t much. Yields were quite good at around 48 hl/ha for the whites with sugars that ranged between 13 and 13.4%. I was a bit worried about the acidities but as it turns out, the post-malo pHs were in the 3.5 area, which is just fine. We had absolutely no additions of any kind save for some SO2 and the wines should please everyone as they are drinking well already.” I have noted this before but the quality coming out of this domaine in recent years is nothing short of spectacular. 2008 saw them fashion some excellent wines but they have outdone themselves in 2009 as everything is outstanding and they have made some of the top wines of the vintage. If you aren’t familiar with the wines, you should be, at least if you enjoy classically styled whites. “
De witte wijn van 2010 worden gekenmerkt door zeer lage rendementen, veel concentratie en kracht, mooie zuren en vooral een zinderende spanning. De Meursault vieilles vignes 2010 is buitengewoon goed geslaagd, Patrick Essa noemt de Meursault 1er cru Goutte d’Or 2010 de beste geslaagde sinds 1979.
